I lost half a day today sifting through the web, planning my return to India in December. I've had the date set in my head for a while now, but somehow actually buying the ticket has given me those butterflies again. I've also stumbled across various other travel blogs that are much more informative than mine was... for example, http://www.itravelabout.com/blog/darren - Darren seems to have spent the best part of 2007-2009 travelling around Asia and documenting it in a very (intentionally) useful way.
The current plan is to take an overnight train to Goa from Mumbai, my port of arrival, and then eventually work my way down the coast to Kerala and then... somewhere else in the South. I am roughly thinking that I will spend six weeks travelling around the southern part of India, which is all new territory for me. I am looking forward to hitting the exploration trail. It's going to feel quite different, as although I intend to journey, look around and generally do the tourist/traveller thing, I have my eye set on a new agenda when I return to Nepal and that focus and purpose will make this journey feel very different I think.
what/why/when/where
I am working on a film project in Jumla, Nepal. You can follow progress of the project on Shakti Pictures blog. We started shooting in November 2011 and returned to Jumla for the second shoot in March 2012. And two further two shoots in 2013. We are now in post-production.
Continuing to work on the project, I now divide my time between Nepal, the UK & the US... and anywhere else I can find an excuse to go in the interim. This blog is a place for some stories of my adventures along the way.
